Upcoming Weekend

I hope you all have survived the week.
I barely have with school and a hectic week at work but with me finishing up the majority of my homework tonight and heading out for a little trip with my Mom in the morning it's bound to get better.
I am taking the computer along for the ride because I will still have to do a few things for school while we are gone but hopefully I can alleviate some that stress tonight with getting it done.
So I can have a care free time in.....

Lincoln is working nights so this morning was the last time I will see him until I get home sometime Monday and that's IF I get home in time before he heads out for another shift.
We said our goodbyes this morning but I had a little surprise waiting for me when I opened the computer tonight when I got home.
He changed the background!
Isn't he sweet, creative, and pretty handy with the paint program. :)

Want List

I have a couple family members that have already mentioned Christmas so I figured I would go ahead and post a wanted list.
Now for all your readers this isn’t necessarily a Christmas list but also a birthday list and just a general because I want it list just in case you wanted to run out and get me any of these awesome things that I NEED!

I read so many books on my Kindle the new Kindle Prime membership would save me so much money and I really want one of these along with Kindle gift cards of course.

Work clothes and new flats are two things I'm in much need of.  I have worn my flats I have now just about out and new work clothes are always something I need since I don't do much shopping for that type of thing.

With a new year comes a new PLANNER and I'm loving the new designs at Erin Condren.  I'm also loving the tweeks they made to make the planners even better like having the monthly tabs laminated for durability.  LOVING this MOM ;)

I maybe a little late for this trend but I love these Sperry top siders.
The next few things are the flowers and gutters I want to put on and around my house.  For this I need a bunch of Lowe's gift cards.  After I put gutters all around and the rain won't tear up my flower beds I plan on putting azaleas and caladiums along the back of the house by our bedroom window.  On the East side of the house where we get full sun I would like to put two white knock out rose bushes on either side of the AC unit. The front needs several things done and I want to use a rose of sharon bush for the front.

I have so many shirts that I can't wear to work because they are sleeveless and if I can wear them I sometimes don't just because it's so cold in the bank.  A cardigan like this one from J. Crew in EVERY color would do me GREAT!
Like I've mentioned before I really want to trade in my rubber food storage for glass and I found this that would definitely do the trick.
Besides upgrading my tupperware I also need some new spatulas.
I have been writing more handwritten notes lately and I think I would keep it up if I had some nice stationary....found these two at Etsy.

fan·tas·ti·cal

conceived or appearing as if conceived by an unrestrained imagination; odd and remarkable; bizarre; grotesque: fantastic rock formations; fantastic designs

I love fantasy and magic.
It's the kid in me I guess but when I read books or watch movies that are so fantastical it makes my heart swell.

I go into this day dreaming frenzy of wwwooooowwww, just imagine if we could hop on the Hogwarts Express and travel to this beautiful castle and learn how to fly on a broom and make potions.

Or oh how would I love to sprinkle myself with fairy dust and float off to never never land and escape the stress of everyday life....I guess that's what they make alcohol for.
LOL
I kid!

I love beautiful fantasies and these images are of movies that transport me to another place and make my mind wonder.
If only....
...sigh
the Chihuly exhibit reminded me of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and Mom agreed

Book Review: The Postcard Killers

I recently devoured a James Patterson book.  It was even better than The Trinity Game that I couldn't put down.  The Postcard Killers was a great book to finish off my little summer break and I was bummed when I clicked on to the last page...it was over... :( what am I to read now....OH YEAH ACCOUNTING BOOKS!

I loved this book for a couple reasons:
1. It was a great mystery that kept me on the edge the entire time and really had no way of guessing what was going to happen
2. It took you all over Europe and made my travel bug itch

Amazon synopsis:
Paris is stunning in the summerNYPD detective Jacob Kanon is on a tour of Europe's most gorgeous cities. But the sights aren't what draw him--he sees each museum, each cathedral, and each cafe through the eyes of his daughter's killer.
The killing is simply marvelous
Kanon's daughter, Kimmy, and her boyfriend were murdered while on vacation in Rome. Since then, young couples in Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, and Stockholm have been found dead. Little connects the murders, other than a postcard to the local newspaper that precedes each new victim.

Although the critics didn't review this book to be good I thought it was gripping and recommend it to any of you who like these sort of sick murder mystery novels.

My Lunch Lady

Piper started selling items from My-Initials Inc and I had been wanting a lunch box so I checked with her to see if her site sold them and they did. Since I work in Quitman I bring my lunch pretty much every day to work and so far my lunch box has been great. I’m sure I will use it for years to come.

my Lunch Lady

If I had the money to spend and would actually let myself spend it here are some more cute things I wouldn’t mind having…
L to R: One Trip Wonder/ Town & Country/ Mini Magnetic Pocket/ The Dish
I love these four things.

1. The One Trip Wonder is a HUGE bag that would be great for short weekend get-a-ways or just an overnight bag that you can throw everything into.
2. The Town & Country bag is, to me, a very sophisticated overnight bag that I feel in love with at first sight.
3. The mini pocket would be a great thing to hang on the side of the frig for Lincoln to put all his little pocket things in like change, pocket knife, snuff, and keys, when he gets home.
4. The Dish is a stylish casserole dish holder to make it easy to transport food...not only easy but super cute!

I wouldn't mind getting all four of these things.  Check out Pipers site here and you can shop all the other cool items they have.  This site is similar to a site called Thirty-One but wwwaaay cheaper, wwaay more variety and they monogramming is free!

Back to School

Today the Fall semester starts up and I begin my SENIOR year!
Which I would feel a lot better about if I wasn't going straight into the graduate program after that but hey that's one more piece of important paper on my wall so what the heck.
I have had the past 2 months off and they have been a wonderful and much needed break but I am looking forward to jumping back into school and getting it over with.
This semester I'm taking 12 hours and it was really hard trying to get registered and everything with online courses since my classes are winding down there aren't that many to choose from so it's tough to get the ones I need with the requirements I must have (like online) since I have to work 40 hours a week also.
I bought my books from Amazon this semester instead of the college and I am so glad I finally took that leap.
I saved myself over $300

**Wish my brain, my household, and Lincoln luck in this semester....it always gets a bit hairy towards the end.**
I'm shooting for all As

On another school note...
Lara begins her last year in her nursing degree today
AND
Caleb starts his first day of high school

We are all growing up so fast....hahahahaha

Chihuly at the Arboretum

One of the main things that I've wanted to do since the beginning of summer is visit the Dallas Arboretum to view the Chihuly exhibit.  Saturday my mom and I drove up to Dallas around 7:30 to view the exhibit and eat lunch.  It was a great morning with my Mom and I'm really glad we took the quick trip.  The glass exhibit was amazing and if you haven't seen it you still have time because it doesn't leave the arboretum until November 5th.
***Warning***
I have a million pictures but I couldn't decide how to narrow it down and still show the awesomeness of the art.
***Another warning***
After the arboretum we went on to eat lunch before heading home.  Kaylynn had mentioned several times that she had eaten at Ls Madeline's and so we decided to stop there. WRONG choice.  Nothing in that place was good except the Dr. Pepper.  I ordered an artisan ham and cheese sandwich and I don't know what came out but it was soggy and disgusting.
