Blog Challenge Day 16 - A song that makes you cry...or almost

I heard this song in the car on one of my first times back home from Iraq and it really hit home.  It isn't so much a sad song but it makes you miss your roots and also makes me remember how much I love small towns and working hard and just the whole country life.  I can't wait to get home and move into my new house in my new small town. Winnsboro isn't really new to me but it will be my first time living there and I am really excited.  Check out the song its great...Justin Moore, "Small Town USA"

Hilarious Erica

A co-worker sent this to me and another co-worker today and I laughed so hard.  She moved offices a couple months ago and hates her new workplace and below are her thoughts today! LOL She is such a character when we all worked together everyone in the office said that Erica and I should be actresses or comedians.  Apparently they all find us so dramatic and funny personally I think Erica is the funny one........

I feel like pulling a state like the Jet Blue flight attendant. I want to call an All Hands and express myself, throw these folders from the top step and proceed to slide down the stairs to make my exit. I completely empathize with the average worker that goes to the vending machine for a diet coke and bag of chips, sits down at their desk for 3 minutes and just out of no where grabs their purse and plant and gets in their car knowing they’re NEVER returning….Then later that day someone asks “Hey guys, where’s Susan”….All the while Susan has taken her bra off at home, left her shoes at the door, sat on the couch, made a sandwich and is now watching the Lifetime network. These are happy endings I love :)

Blog Challenge Day 15- a fanfic

Ok I am skipping this one
I have NO clue what a fanfic is....anyone have any ideas???

Blog Challenge Day 14- A non-fictional book

Eat, Pray, Love

I bought this book in the Dubai Airport Duty Free on my way to Iraq for the first time.  It is a really long book and I am not into non-fiction at all but I stuck with it and finished the book and I am so glad I did.  It is really empowering and just a really neat story.  I am so excited about the movie not only is it going to be a great story but one of my all time favorite actresses, Julia Roberts, is playing the main character Elizabeth Gilbert.  If you haven't read the book it is actually a non-fiction that I recommend.

Blog Challenge Day 13- A fictional Book

Since I have been on my 2 year reading kick I have read some really great fictional books.  A trilogy that I recently finished was written by Noel Hynd and I highly recommend it.  The books share a few common characters but the main character is a female US Treasury agent who gets involved in some very thrilling adventures concerning a special Russian business man/gangster.  If you have time check them out.  The first of the three is Conspiracy in Kiev, then Midnight in Madrid, and last is Countdown in Cairo.

House Update

Well my mom has been working really hard on getting a lot of the big stuff out of the way so when I get home we can focus on getting me settled in, decorating and just overall relaxing in my new casa.  I have all my furniture bought and paid for it will be delivered that Monday when I get home.  I have my new light fixtures and appliances picked out and my mom is going to get them tomorrow.  Lowe's has come out and measured for my new flooring and that will hopefully be done by the end of this week.  Also on Friday a guy is coming out to texture my master bath and the entry way after the wall paper has been removed.  I have hounded my mom to take a million pictures to capture the entire transformation since I am not there, but even if I was I would be taking a lot of pictures.  The house is going to be so much warmer and just look completely different.  My mom started painting on Friday and has finished the dining room and kitchen.  I believe she is moving on to the spare bedrooms and spare bath next.  I have designed a small addition to my back yard.  I don't know if I will be adding that while I am home but it will definitely get done sooner or later.  When I get home my mom and I will paint the living room, master bedroom, and the master bath.  She is saving that painting until I get home because she isn't too sure on the colors and is hoping to sway me LOL.  Those are really the most important rooms to me anyways to really make the transformation complete.  I hate that I am missing out on some of the big things like the floor and the rest of the painting because I really love doing all that and it is my house so its sort of a bonding time LOL.  But my mom is really helping out so I have more time to relax and get settled when I get home rather than busting my butt for the entire 3 weeks I'm there painting and doing all that hard labor.  I get more and more excited everyday seeing now I have less than 2 weeks and I will be there.  I have this amazing picture of the way I want it to look in my head and I just hope it turns out that way.  Usually my pictures don't turn out great when it comes to outfits and things but when it comes to home decor I always like the result I think this time will be another time that I am pleased with my work. LOL Thanks mom for helping out so much I really would be up a creek if it wasn't for you.... :)  Stay tuned for more updates.  I won't be posting any pictures until I get home and have it all situated but believe me I think the wait is going to be well worth it.

Blog Challenge Day 5- Favorite Quote

"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting..."holy hell...what a ride!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!  This quote isn't one I necessarily live my life by, TOTALLY anyways, but every time I read it I get this huge smile.  It is hilarious to me and it reminds me to go out and have some really great and crazy experiences because life only happens once...we can't play it safe ALL the time.  :)

Blog Challenge Day 4- Favorite Book

Like a lot of people I wasn't much of a reader until about 3 years ago. I didn't like to read before mostly because in school it was mandatory to read so many books per 6 weeks and then what teenager just likes to sit around and read? NOT ME. As I grew up and learned to appreciate the great art of reading I am now a super reader LOL! A year and a half ago I got m kindle and have read even more since then. I stick with the fiction mystery/thriller with a bit of romance thrown in. I am really into government service books right now. I just finished a trilogy about a woman in the financial branch of the FBI and she traveled the world and had really cool dangerous action packed missions. I really don't have a favorite but out of all the books I have read so far that have just been for pleasure if I had to tell someone "You HAVE to read (blank)!" I think it would be "You HAVE to read the TWILIGHT SAGA" it is amazing and so romantic. I mean in what other place can you really have happily ever after for literally FOREVER. It is awesome and I am for sure team Edward.

Blog Challenge Day 3- Favorite TV Program

What girl doesn't love Sex and the City? I mean it is the best show ever for woman. It is definitely my favorite TV series ever. I think every woman can find similarities in at least one of the girls and you can probably relate to most of their stories through out the 12 years of us knowing them. I think they are a classic...for my generation anyways. LOL

Blog Challenge Day 2- Favorite Movie

Ok so if you know me at all then you know that no matter what movies are on my favorites list Pretty Woman will always be at the top. I could watch this movie everyday and never get tired of it. I can quote it from beginning to end perfectly. I watch it when I am homesick or just down or just in the fairytale mood. LOL I remember my senior year of high school I would play this movie every night while I went to bed while eating animal crackers and drinking chocolate milk. Awwww the good times LOL! I love it in, my eyes it is such a classic.

I would love to have a Pretty Woman themed birthday complete with the red dress, fancy jewelry and my very own Edward, not so much the billionaire just my very own king charming ;), that takes me to see the opera that they see in the movie which is La Traviata. That would be the best and they would have my heart forever!!! hehehehe
I am out of new releases so I think I will pop it in my DVD player and watch it tonight. It has been a couple of weeks. :)

Blog Challenge Day 1- Favorite Song

This one is hard for me because I really like and love most all music but since I have to choose I am going to go with a song from my favorite band at this time. Oasis "Wonderwall" with "Little by Little" coming in a close second. These two have to be my top favorites at this time. I love this song everything about it says trust, friendship, and love. I got turned on to Oasis about 7 months ago and I love them. They have the perfect mixture of rock and just everything thrown together that every song is so great you can automatically just sing along like you have been listening to them for years. They are calming yet get you pumped up and give you good feelings all at once. They are my go to band right now. Every morning around 5:30 when I get to work and start my volume of reports I plug my ears with my ear buds and hit Oasis, random. I just let it play and it sets my mood for my day. Every one of their songs are great so if you get a chance listen in but here is a taste and one of my favorites they have.

Events from Home

I got an email from my mom with pictures of the weekend's events. Lara graduated from LVN school. I am so proud of her. She has worked so hard and just one more year of RN school and she will be completely done. Congratulations Lara!
Saturday my mom had Averie for a bit and she played in the kiddy pool and swung on her swing. She is such a doll and with one of these looks has me and the rest of the family totally wrapped around her little finger. LOL I can't wait to get home and play with Averie and Gracie. They are such dolls.
