Book Review: The Couple Next Door

I picked up this book in the Denver airport on my way home at the end of October and as soon as I started reading it at the gate I couldn't stop.  I read it in under a week and not that I'm a slow reader at all but I usually savor the book by only reading at night but I HAD TO KNOW!!! The suspense is held in this book all the way through with a million twists and a couple MAJOR curve balls being thrown at you at the end to wrap it up nicely.  It is a horrifying story of how people can lose their humanity over money and I wouldn't doubt one bit if this has or does happen in our society.  Although it is named The Couple Next Door it is really all about what is happening right in your own home and your own family.  Definitely 5 *****s!

Amazon Synopsis:

It all started at a dinner party. . .

A domestic suspense debut about a young couple and their apparently friendly neighbors—a twisty, rollercoaster ride of lies, betrayal, and the secrets between husbands and wives. . .  Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all—a loving relationship, a wonderful home, and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night, when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately lands on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story.  Inside the curtained house, an unsettling account of what actually happened unfolds. Detective Rasbach knows that the panicked couple is hiding something. Both Anne and Marco soon discover that the other is keeping secrets, secrets they've kept for years.  What follows is the nerve-racking unraveling of a family—a chilling tale of  deception, duplicity, and unfaithfulness that will keep you breathless until the final shocking twist.

Happy reading...I'll be over here trying to finish up The President is Missing!
