Spring and Summer Bucket List

I have no clue what-so-ever how it is already May of 2019.....This year has literally flown by so far.  I have accomplished a lot so far and now that Spring is here and Summer is upon us I have so much more that I want to do.

* Eat plenty of water melon
* Organize garage and hunting equipment
* Go berry picking
*Take a week in Charleston
* Get tan
* Continue growing my garden and working on my landscaping
* Go hiking OK
* Continue getting back into super good shape on my fitness journey
* Go to a Rangers Game
* Read 6 books
* Go with friends kayaking
* Host our White Trash Bash
* Blog more regularly
* Break in our inflatable stand up paddle boards we got last year
* Do fun things with Case like the diamond mine, water park, and summer movie dates
* Take weekend getaways to Hot Springs and Austin

Well even if I accomplish half of those things listed I will have been pretty busy.  These are all great goals for me until the Fall.

Garden Planning 2018 and DIY Wreath

This year I set out determined to have a magazine worthy garden.  I was sick of fighting weeds, looking at boring rows and being over whelmed with the idea of "work" when I really enjoy gardening and the rewards I can reap from it.  Early this year I was up late diagramming and coloring my own little garden plan that I plan on bringing to life!  Below is my plan of 6 raised beds and each bed has all the items I plan on growing, not pictured is the arbor and entrance near my chicken coop that is going to be the pretty entrance to my raised bed garden.  I have started the process and as soon as everything is finished up and green I'll be sure to post about it and also how closely I ended up following the below plan. ;)

As soon as my Christmas decor came down my front and back door were naked of any decor.  My grapevine wreath from the past 2 years was tired and I was uninspired by it so I set out to Canton in February to find the perfect decor to put together a new inspired wreath.  I didn't know what I wanted but I did know what I DIDN'T want.  When I stumbled on some bicycle wheels out in the "junk" section of Canton the lightening struck....A BICYCLE RIM wreath!  I got a small to medium old bicycle wheel for $5 and picked up some nice floral at Paul Michael on the way out.

I love how it turned out and since this picture I added a little welcome plaque at the top and its the perfect finish.  I love how this ordinary item was able to provide another useful purpose and really cheap!

HAPPY SPRING!

Do fun summer actives with Case- water balloons, water park, splash pad, homemade ice cream

Go kayaking

Make new summer salad and grilling recipes

Read 5 new books

It has been a while since I have done a bucket list and even longer since I thought I could actually finish one that I have made.  Now that I'm not in school, wedding is complete, and we are done with vacationing I think this Summer I can get these done.  Summer in East Texas is HERE and I want to do some if not ALL of these fun Summer activities this year.  Other than fitness related events I have no plans and want to enjoy every weekend soaking up the Summer sunshine and heat with my husband, family, and friends.  What all do you have planned for the Summer?

Portraits

In May Hendrik and I had our awesome photographer, Rocki, take some couples photos of us.  We have been together over 3 years now so I thought it was time that we had some nice pictures that capture us to put up in the house.  Pretty much every picture turned out amazing.  I'm so happy with them and they proudly hang and sit all over our house now.

Here are some of my favorites but there's really not enough space for me to show you all of them because they are that good!

Fall Bucket List

September is here,
the wind has picked up,
it's a bit cooler at night,
and it's still hot
But that's not going to stop me from putting out my pumpkin decor and calling it Fall.
It is Texas and we could quite possibly get an ice storm any day now. HaHa!

To wrap up Summer I'm doing another bucket list of things I hope to accomplish this season but first need to update my final Summer list.
I didn't have too much success with marking off a lot of items on my list but the ones that I did get to mark off really counted and were a lot of fun so I guess that's all that matters. Of course there's always more I could have done or more to be better at but I had a fantastic Summer away from school and enjoyed a lot of new and old things.

  • Plan and have a get together at the house with friends and play volleyball
  • Go to a Rangers Game
  • Sell my house
  • Go on a girls trip
  • Ride my bicycle frequently
  • Plant a garden
  • Finish school with a bang
  • Plan a Fall trip
  • Attend my 2nd Hyrdo Stream shoot out with Hendrik and our couple friends
  • Wash my car weekly
  • Go on dates to winery and new restaurants
  • Start new blog series (in progress)
  • Surf and soak up the sun and water at the lake
  • Get my tan on in my lounge chairs in the back yard
  • Go to Canton
  • Get more blogging done since Hendrik is working late hours and I'm not in school
  • Do more DIY
  • Have pictures taken in the corn before harvest
  • Relax, unwind and enjoy every minute of free time and sunshine

  •
    NOW for my Fall list.
    I've been doing this for a couple of years now and you can always click on my Fall label in the right side bar or other named seasons to see past bucket lists.
    There are a few items that just keep popping up (visit a winery, hike in OK, visit a haunted house) mainly because I never get around to them but this season I really am going to strive to utilize my time and get all these fun activities and to dos marked off my list.

    Before I get into my Summer list here's an updated version of my Winter Bucket List found HERE.

    Although I didn't get everything on my winter list accomplished I did mark off quite a few items.

    • Finish school with a bang
    • Plan a Fall trip

    • Wash my car weekly
    • Go on dates to winery and new restaurants
    • Start new blog series (in progress)
    • Surf and soak up the sun and water at the lake
    • Get my tan on in my lounge chairs in the back yard

    Fall Bucket List

    Back in the Summer I made THIS bucket list and I didn't get too many things accomplished but I did get some things done and to me they were very important.

    What I accomplished this summer:
    Had cook out with friends
    Tried berry picking but plants died from heat
    Relaxed and enjoyed the small things
    Watched the sunrise many mornings over the last 3 months
    Went running ONCE! Hey it's not how many times its I did it at all LOL
    Layed out and laked out

    Summer was so awesome and even though I love it I'm really looking forward to Fall, the cool weather, and a ton of new adventures!

    Now it's time to make a to do list for Fall.  I hope to check almost if not ALL these things off my list

     Come on Fall!

    Chihuly at the Arboretum

    One of the main things that I've wanted to do since the beginning of summer is visit the Dallas Arboretum to view the Chihuly exhibit.  Saturday my mom and I drove up to Dallas around 7:30 to view the exhibit and eat lunch.  It was a great morning with my Mom and I'm really glad we took the quick trip.  The glass exhibit was amazing and if you haven't seen it you still have time because it doesn't leave the arboretum until November 5th.
    ***Warning***
    I have a million pictures but I couldn't decide how to narrow it down and still show the awesomeness of the art.
    ***Another warning***
    After the arboretum we went on to eat lunch before heading home.  Kaylynn had mentioned several times that she had eaten at Ls Madeline's and so we decided to stop there. WRONG choice.  Nothing in that place was good except the Dr. Pepper.  I ordered an artisan ham and cheese sandwich and I don't know what came out but it was soggy and disgusting.
